The communication concerns a project to translate a North Korean historical novel entitled Myoch'ŏng-ŭi ran (묘청의 란, 2012), which relates an important event of the Koryŏ Period: the  movement to transfer the main Capital (Kaegyŏng, Songak) to the Western Capital (Pyongyang) and the 1135 Pyongyang revolt promoted by the monk Myoch'ŏng and his supporters. The translation is an opportunity to understand the interpretation of the event in the context of North Korean historiography as well as the way to « make history » in North Korea.
