Yi Sunshin: Korea’s National Hero

COST: 90,000 won for RAS Korea members; 110,000 won for Non-members (Lunch is not included in the cost.)

MEETING POINT: At the top of Exit 2 of Sports Complex Station (종합운동장역, Line 2 & 9). At 8:00AM.

We will travel to Asan City, about 80 km south of Seoul, to visit the childhood home of the great Admiral Yi Sunshin’s birthplace and his memorial temple. The museum at the temple exhibits relics and artifacts about Yi Sunshin’s life and career. His childhood home is nearby. After lunch and visits to a fold museum, we will spend a couple of hours wandering through a small rural village that retains much of its Joseon era personality.

The bus departs at 8 AM from Exit 2, Jamshil Jonghap Undongjang station (Subway Line 2 or 9). Lunch is not included in the tour price, but the group will stop at a local restaurant where we can get a good lunch for a decent price.
